Bend
Central Oregon is filled with a number of active and inactive volcanoes. Many of them offer fantastic ski touring itineraries, the most notable being "The Three Sisters" area.
A short drive from the dream retirement town of Bend and across the road from the Mt. Bachelor is a parking lot where you board your snowmobile and head into the Three Sisters backcountry area. The flat 45min entry can be a bit bumpy on the sled but once parked and ascending, the terrain is really fun, as evident by this video.
