Kirkwood
There’s something magical that happens when storms roll into Kirkwood. Often referred to as “the K-Factor”, storms come from the north and south, pick up precipitation on the west coast, funnel through a tight canyon up the Sierra Foothills and UNLOAD on Kirkwood’s perfect position. The inbounds terrain here can offer some runs that are borderline terrifying and require mandatory air. Tahoe is known for its numerous options of resorts but if you are making the trip, be sure to hit up South Lake Tahoe and experience the K-Factor for yourself.
