Are you looking for an epic ski tour circuit that has it all?  Expansive, dramatic terrain, incredible huts, great food and good snow?  Forget the Haute Route - go to the Ortler Route.  This is one of Europe's most precious gems and an easy flight into Milan and a 3-hour drive to the town of Bormio puts you at the trailhead of Italy's famous Ortler Route. The quality of the huts here is noticeably above others in Europe and the food is what you would imagine - endless dishes of pasta.  The terrain has glaciated features with deep snow - it's a miracle more people haven't heard of this place.  Highly recommend.
