Home to the world’s largest volcanoes, the Andes offer the most vertical relief for heli-skiing anywhere in the world and a chance to ski in North American summer. While resort skiers in Argentina and Chile only see the far Western flanks of the Andes, South America heli-skiers can dive deep into the second largest mountain range in the world. Between Greg Harms and Miguel Ledda, Third Edge Heli has more heli-ski guiding experience in South America than any operator. Fluent in Spanish, their intimate knowledge of the area and integration within the ski industry in South America means access to about 5 million acres of skiing in the Andes. Heli-skiing in the Andes means alpine skiing with features like bowls, couloirs and big mountain faces. Runs average 5,000 vertical feet (1,500m) and often extend to 9,000 feet (2,750m).
