Stellar Heli
Stellar Heli is one of the industry’s leading heli ski operations and is based out of the single street hip town of Kaslo, British Columbia. Everything is a little different with Stellar Heli and that’s a good thing because the operation really stands out as a fantastic option for heli riders who seek a “no frills, low vibe” experience with exceptional terrain. Nestled in-between the Purcell and Selkirk mountain ranges of the Kootenays, there are endless options in either direction which means you will most likely be going skiing every single day, regardless of cloud cover. While BC tends to attract attention towards operations that are located more in the central-interior area of the province, the Kootenays deliver deep, consistent snow that would make you think you are skiing in Japan. Stellar does not have it’s own lodge but rather uses the local Kaslo Hotel as it’s unofficial HQ. Group dinners rotate across the restaurants in town and the guides help bring a family tone to every gathering. Of note should also be that Stellar offers full flexibility for booking dates so you are not forced into a certain number of days or certain dates that do not align with your schedule. Come when you want and leave when you want. You don’t need to think twice about this place - it’s awesome. Just be sure to bring the widest skis you own because you’ll need ‘em and will be laughing down every run. On the way in or out be sure to make a pitstop in the larger town of Nelson on your drive to Spokane airport in Washington.
